BOLD HAND STITCHED RED AND GREEN KANTHA QUILT | RAJASTHAN, INDIA
ONE ONLY : An incredible vintage art-piece hand-stiched Kantha quilt / throw / blanket combines recycled textiles into a quite heavy but beautifully soft quilt. It reminds me of an Amish pattern, with the wide contrasting red and green stripes that result in an incredibly bold piece. A unique combination of design and recycled textiles resulting in a quilt that makes a bold statement. The colours are strong and the addition of a couple of strips of black just add a dash of abstraction to it. Thousands of hand stitches. I buy my quilts from a seller who knows I like quilts that are completely different from the myriad of vintage kantha quilts available. They are bold in design and some very old - like Japanese Boro with almost shredded fabric held together by all the stitches, patched and the result of years of use. Absolutely unique. 148cm x 222cm
Use as a picnic or yoga blanket / sofa throw, on a bed or hang on a wall as the piece of art it is!
