ONLY ONE GOLD EVENING CLUTCH LEFT. This exquisite evening clutch has been made by Afghan women in refugee camps in northern Pakistan. These women make items using traditional embroidery and skills to earn money for their families. The clutch features the fine pleats from recycled silk burqas and is highlighted with a large 9cm x 23cm hand embroidered flap that folds from half-way down the back and across to the front and is fastened with a magnetic clasp. The precise embroidery is traditional Afghan counted satin stitch using silk threads in brilliant bright colours - turquoise, emerald, red, maroon, orange, blue, black and white.The bag is 30cm x 18cm and has four dangles attached to the side seam that are hand-beaded and/or sewn with tiny silk tassles. The inside of the bag is fully lined and has a zippered pocket (see photo). Colours are black, white and gold.
